Health Gorilla Clinical Network offers variety of sync options with the EMR or Practice Management systems. We do recognize that there are over 700 EMR vendors on the market today. Most of them have the limited capabilities to export patient's records. In those cases when the bulk export is available, the data formats of the export is typically not compatible for import into other EMR systems.
Clinical Network offers a straight forward solution to create interoperability between various providers, regardless of the EMR/PM systems and data formats. Clinical Network is currently integrated with several state HIEs, and participates in the national exchange networks such as Commonwealth(c). We are also integrating with all individual EMRs, that are compatible with MU2.
You can also manually extract ONLY the demographics from your EMR and import into Health Gorilla. This is useful to identify common patients across the Network as well as immediately start placing electronic diagnostic orders and send referrals for your patients and conduct many other activities within the Network.
Navigate to Settings (top right corner of the screen, click on your name and select Settings). Select Patients section. Follow the instructions for your EMR to create and save a demographics report, which you can drop into upload window on this screen. Your patient's demographics information will be populated into the Health Gorilla Clinical Network. The system will start identifying your patients and matching them with your organizations, while suggesting sync options. It is also a great tool to identify duplicate patient records in your EMR. Start Duplicate Patient Report on this screen.
Alternatively, if your EMR is MU2 compliant, you can follow its instructions to export complete patient's chart in the CCD or CCD-A formats. Most EMRs will support this extract for the individual patient chart; some EMRs will support bulk export of all patients' charts in CCDA format. You can easily import CCDA files into Health Gorilla. If you have a bulk export CCDA archive - attach it to a secure electronic message in Health Gorilla and send it to Health Gorilla Support, found in your contact book. We will process the bulk import of the CCDAs within 48 hours.
To import individual CCDA files into Health Gorilla, navigate to Create New... button on the home page and select CCDA Document:
The contents of the CCDA file will be instantly matched to the existing patient or a new patient chart will be created. The CCDA file contents will then be parsed into relevant sections and displayed as part of the Universal Chart in Clinical Network. We support over 750 various CCDA formats from virtually any EMR on the market today.
